The Grain & Grit team Went pink!
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all G&G locations teamed up to support Shades of Pink California, a local organization that provides monetary assistance to women who are experiencing financial distress as a result of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Pink week at the Yolk was a success!
Both teams went all out, but winner for best overall decked out pink team was Orange!
Best Decked Out Winners
Best decked out pink employee went to Hannah Oblachinski at Costa Mesa.
Best decked out pink employee at Orange was too hard to pick! So Cindi Cox, Erikka Meyer, and America all win!
All locations combined raised over $500 dollars to be donated to Shades of Pink California (WOO HOO!)

Carnitas’ Snack Shack had another fun adoption event with The Animal Pad!
The event created an opportunity for foster dogs to find their forever homes. Plus, there was a dog menu, cocktails named after the foster dogs, and a portable bar and grill where a percentage of sales went to TAP! Did you know that any dog that gets adopted from TAP will eat for free for LIFE?! Interested in adopting or donating?

Grain & Grit is teaming up with the San Diego Blood Bank this month at the Little Italy Food Hall on November 11th! Not only did our team fill up slots for an entire bus, but we are almost filled up for the SECOND bus (woo-hoo!).
Donors get a custom blood drive shirt, plus specials from Not Not Tacos and Graze by Sam. Learn more here.

What’s new with our G&G fam?!
Congrats Brian!
You know him. You love him. And now, you should congratulate him! Brian has been promoted to the new manager at Little Italy Food Hall! Brian’s restaurant career started when he was 16 as a cook at Pizza Hut in El Cajon and instantly fell in love with the food industry. He spent a bulk of his experience working in various butcher shops and eventually found his way to Carnitas’ Snack Shack, working up from a line cook. He loves the Space Jam Grilled Cheese, which he helped put on the Carnitas’ menu! His new favorite items include the Marinated Lamb taco and Shrimp Udon Salad. Welcome to the Food Hall team, Brian!
Welcome Livia!
Help us welcome Livia, Grain & Grit's newest Marketing Coordinator! Livia grew up in Italy with an American mom and a Spanish dad. She attended an American University in Rome, then moved to Chicago for two years. Livia loves to wind down with an hour of yoga, a book, and a cold glass of her favorite wine. "I'm so grateful to be part of an amazing team and to work passionately for my biggest love: food!"

With good eats comes great responsibility! Congratulations to Camryn, our newest brand ambassador for EATS by Sam! Camryn will be snapping close ups of all the deliciousness going on at EATS, along with the behind-the-scenes action. Be sure to say hi next time you stop by EATS for a tasty Samburger or Samwich!
Welcome Adriana!
We are excited to welcome a new member to the G&G family, Adriana, as the assistant manager of Broken Yolk Orange! Adriana didn’t know what she was getting herself into when she started culinary arts school, but she quickly learned that she has a passion for food! She loves hanging out with friends, hiking, and finding positive ways to live life like yoga, watching movies with the family, and playing with her fur babies. Be sure to say hello next time you are getting your brunch on!

EATS by Sam is NOW OPEN!
Eats by Sam had a great opening, starting with a Friends and Family event to get the team ready and warmed up! EATS by Sam is now open for delivery and takeout from Samburgers and Samwiches to start. Guests can also order food and enjoy it on the harbor side patio or in the expansive courtyard. Be sure to check out (and drool over) the menu at eatsbysam.com!
Fall is here!
The Broken Yolk Cafe is back with it’s fall menu. Tis’ the season to stuff your face with the Sky High Pumpkin Pie and warm up to a Pumpkin Spice Latte or Caramel Apple Mimosa. Be sure to check out the newly renovated space at the Broken Yolk Cafe Orange while you are at it! The team has been CRUSHING it and their guests are so happy to have the BYC team back in biz.

Graze by Sam will be offering a Thanksgiving party pack. They do all of the work, you eat all of the cheese! Keep an eye out for the Graze charcuterie board + wine bundle that you can pre-order to have ready to go for your Thanksgiving festivities!
Tacos + beer + Football
Carnitas’ Snack Shack has tailgate boxes + beer buckets, available for dine-in, takeout, or delivery. Taco, burrito, and nacho boxes are eagerly waiting to be scarfed down! Head to Carnitas’ to watch some football on their mega screen TVs, or order delivery to enjoy at home.
