What is it?
The Grain & Grit Collective Hardship Relief Fund (HRF) is a program designed to help our team members cope with unexpected hardships that place financial stress on them and their families. It provides financial assistance to those team members facing extenuating circumstances.
“When COVID-19 forced the temporary suspension of business at our concepts, and we were
faced with unprecedented challenges, we felt an immense need to attempt to alleviate the pain
and discomfort that this disaster brought to our G&G family. I made a promise to our entire
collective that our leadership team at G&G would do our absolute best to navigate the
uncharted waters while maintaining our values. We quickly shifted and dedicated our time and
resources to create a support program, now known as the Hardship Relief Fund. What we have
been able to accomplish for this program since its inception proves that we will rise above and
come out stronger when faced with challenges. I look forward to growing this program for the
years to come and having this invaluable resource for our team members who need it the most,”

Why do we have it?
The Grain & Grit Collective Hardship Relief Fund was established in March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, forcing the temporary suspension of business at all Grain & Grit Collective Concepts. It was created to alleviate financial stress for team members facing extenuating circumstances. Since its inception, Grain & Grit has made this program a top priority, where ample time and resources are dedicated into building it out into a program to last forevermore.

“The G&G Hardship Relief Fund Board made me feel valued and heard”
The G&G Hardship Relief Fund Board made me feel valued and heard. They gave me good insights on how to save money and ask for help from big companies whose main desire (before COVID) was not to help me. The experience was educational and insightful. I feel such gratitude for all they did. Thanks everyone for helping me out. I am eternally grateful.

“I thought it was only fair to repay them for their kindness by helping out in some small way”
When the pandemic hit and so many local businesses were shuttered, I knew there were going to be thousands of employees in San Diego that would not know how they were going to pay rent or put food on the table. unlike many of us, they did not have the opportunity to pivot and “work from home”. I had been waited on in the G&G restaurants and eating their tasty food pre-pandemic, and thought it was only fair to repay them for their kindness by helping out in some small way when we hit this terrible crisis. It continues to be a heartbreaking situation.
